Organisation aims and objectives

The Haven is a registered charity which aims to improve the quality of life of people affected by life limiting illness including cancer, MS, Motor Neurone Disease and to carers and family members. Support is provided at all stages of illness; from diagnosis, during treatment, at the end of life stage and importantly, bereavement support for carers. Services are delivered by a multidisciplinary team of nurses, therapists and volunteer peer support, both at a drop in centre and in clients own homes, through the Haven@Home service. Clients can self refer, all services are provided free of charge and volunteer drivers assist clients to access the centre. Support focuses on improving knowledge and understanding of all aspects of illness, treatment and care; improving emotional wellbeing, reducing and managing stress and supporting clients to effectively self manage the impact that illness and caring has on their life.
