Lifeskills Furniture collection Driver

To drive our 3.5 tonne Luton van, working alongside Lifeskills collagues in the collection and deliveries of donated furniture and household items

  • Collecting and delivering furniture to the RAMH Lifeskills service, individual donors and customers
  • Loading and unloading the van at the warehouse at the beginning and end of each day
  • Lead colleagues, ensuring all stock is hyandled carefully, secured for transportation and stored appropriately in the warehouse
  • Ensure that only quality donationns and those which onform to relevant legislation (including 1988 Fire Safety Leg8ilsation) are collected for the project
  • Carry out basic daily and weekly vehicle checks i.e. fluie checks, lighting checks and other routing safety checks in line with RAMH H&S policy
  • Undertake other driving duties as required (e.g. driving colleagues to other arranged destinations)
  • Support the learning and skills development of colleagues
  • When not driving the vehicle, will assist the furniture reuse team
  • Work within the role and task fo a volunteer worker for RAMH
  • Be aware of and implement the RAMH philosphy
  • Help ensure a clean and safe working environment exists within our warehouse and showroom for public and volunteers

Organisation aims and objectives

RAMH is a voluntary organisation and a company limited by guarantee. We were established in 1978 and have been an active provider of services since 1990 and currently offers a variety of support to adults with mental Health problems in Renfrewshire, East Renfrewshire and South Ayrshire. These include supported accommodation, counselling and day services


Between 25 - 70 years of age Full valid UK Driving Licence held for a minimum of one year Experience of driving good vehicles.
Experience required: Essential - Full valid UK Driving Licence held for a minimum of one year and between 25-70 years of age - Physically able to lift heavy loads, including furniture - Experience of furniture removals deliveries or manual handling - calm under pressure
