Purpose: The role of the Board is to safeguard and promote the values and mission of the Centre, to determine the strategy and structure of the Centre, to ensure the Centre operates in an effective, responsible and accountable manner and to ensure the effective functioning of the board.

Duties will include to ensure all personnel issues are dealt with swiftly and appropriately, ensure that WRASAC is operating within employment practice and legal guidelines. Dealing with complaints, grievance and disciplinary matters when required, co-ordinate Board meetings. Attend appropriate sub-groups and other relevant meetings as and when necessary. Assist with the development of relevant policies, attend any relevant training, conferences and seminars as required. Conduct exit interviews with staff and management group members as required. Assist in the Recruitment and selection of paid staff when required. Oversee and assist with organisational funding applications where appropriate.

Organisation aims and objectives

The Women’s Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre is a local organisation covering Dundee, Angus, and parts of Perthshire and Fife. We provide free and confidential support services to women and girls aged 13 years and over who have been raped, sexually abused or sexually exploited at any time in their life. We welcome all service users, staff and volunteers who identify as women irrespective of religion, race, age, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity or disability.










Estimated Time Commitment Board meetings - Approx 3 hours per month Budget/Finance meetings - Approx 1 hour per month


Women only. WRASAC is a women only support organisation and is exempt under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010
Experience required: Finance Management, Fundraising, HR, Office Administration, Employment, Strategic Business Planning, Voluntary sector, Health/Education/Police/Legal.
Travel details: The office of the organisation is on 2 Dudhope Street near the city centre of Dundee.
Minimum age: 18


Expenses paid: Yes
Expenses details: Travel and out of pocket expenses paid on production of relevant receipts.
Training details: Induction would cover all aspects of how the organisations operates. On-going support from other committee members and from the manager.
