Research enquiries sent in by members of the public using the archive material available, provide an appropriate, well thought out answer to the enquiry, file answered queries.

Organisation aims and objectives

The purpose of The Highlanders' Museum is to:- 1. Provide an educational facility to supply authoritative information on all aspects of Highland military heritage to the widest possible public audience. 2. Collect, conserve and display items connected with the Regiment today and its antecedents, and with the military history of the Highlands and Islands. 3. To maintain a permanent Regiment focal point for the benefit of members of the Regiment, past and present, their families and descendants, the communities of the Highlands and Islands, and the general public, to generate goodwill and an understanding of the effect the Regiments have played on the social history of the Region.

Restrictions

Experience required: Problem solving, basic computer skills, organisational skills and an interest in the history of The Highlanders and its antecedent regiments

Support

Training details: Research workshop, shadowing existing researchers until you feel comfortable answering queries yourself.
