Description

We are looking for general volunteers to help out at the HOPE Project Office based in Stevenston to:
• Assist at various Activities and Events within the centre
• Assist with Activities, Health and Fitness Classes and Interest Classes
• Help older people who have mobility issues to attend social outings
If you like working alongside older individuals and would enjoy supporting them to attend various Events or Classes then this is the right opportunity for you.

Organisation aims and objectives

The aims of CLASP are the relief of poverty and advancement of education. The charity’s objectives are: To develop a community managed and run sustainable project in the Stevenston area but serving the North Ayrshire area. To encourage a more empowered, informed and socially active community through community capacity building and active citizenship training and activities. To support and facilitate individual and group activity on issues relating to social inclusion. To provide a local base for information, advice, assistance and resources on issues such as poverty, health, unemployment, money advice, literacies and local training opportunities in partnership with other voluntary and statutory organisations. To recruit and train local volunteers in the above activities offering, where possible, recognised accredited opportunities in partnership with training and education providers. Restrictions

Experience required: Looking for people who have an interest in working alongside Older Individuals and would like to support them to take part in activities within their local area.
Travel details: Opportunity takes place at the HOPE Project Office in Stevenson, North Ayrshire. This is situated on a main bus route.
Minimum age: 18

Support

Expenses paid: Yes
Expenses details: Expenses will be paid on request - proof of bus/train tickets. Mileage will be paid for all travel connected with the project. (Training and Volunteer Work)
Taster available: Yes
Taster details: An induction session will be provided to volunteers.
Training details: The induction session will be followed up by training sessions, disclosure check and ongoing training and support sessions thereafter.

General Volunteer

At Clyde Cycle Park we are looking for more people to get involved with the park. Duties are varied and will involve helping to get set up for sessions, checking bikes over, assisting coaches, and general helping out at the centre. No cycling experience is necessary, and you will be given training and help to carry out the duties. This role will involve working with children, families, people from different backgrounds and people with disabilities. We also need help to spread the word and promote Clyde Cycle Park, and there may be opportunity to attend networking events. Hours and days will vary, we are a new organisation and are getting regular activities set up. You can get involved for a short term or longer term, and if you are unsure if this is the right opportunity, please feel free to contact us for an informal chat.

Tarbolton Community Council is a voluntary organisation made up of local residents, each with a genuine interest in the community. Their main role is to be representative through consultation with the local community, and make it known to the local authority and other public bodies the views of local people on all matters affecting them. If you're interested to help out our community in Tarbolton doing various tasks depending on what's happening in our village. Some tasks may include: - Gardening - Participating in events - Maintaining public areas - and any other tasks that might be needed by the TCC We welcome all volunteers, even if it is just for a couple of hours a week or a month. We would also welcome any suggestions and ideas which could benefit our community.
