Collection Box Coordinator

Description

Identify and place collecting boxes in suitable locations. Talk to shop owner etc at location about how the boxes will help Guide Dogs and what we do. Empty boxes every 3-6months and bank the income through the payin book provided, give a receipt and letter of thanks to the hosts. Keep a written record of the location of all boxes for your supervisor, dates they are emptied and the dates/amount banked. If boxes aren't collecting much then move to a better location (your supervisor may ask you to do this). Report any stolen boxes. Spot the potential for further fundraising amongst the box holders for community fundraising.

Organisation aims and objectives

We will deliver a world class guide dog service as part of a range of mobility services, and work to break down barriers to ensure people who are blind and partially sighted can get out and about on their own terms.

Restrictions

Age limit due to laws regarding the collecting of boxes
Experience required: Good communication and organisational skills. Team working when working with a local fundraising group or others.
Travel details: Local to you.
Minimum age: 16

Expenses paid: Yes
Expenses details: Out of pocket expenses.
Training details: Regular and ongoing support from Guide Dogs. Payment of out of pocket expenses agreed in advance. Basic induction to Guide Dogs and to the role.
