Description

Kincorth Community Centre Association has opportunities for people to volunteer as Coffee-Bar Assistants. General duties would include serving tea, coffee & snacks to a variety of groups and the public, from a busy community café facility which is attached to the local Library and Health Centre. Duties will also include cleaning of the kitchen and coffee-bar areas.

We hope to develop our coffee-bar to serve hot meals and deliver a lunch club for the locals from the beginning of 2015.

Full training will be given, a food hygiene certificate would be beneficial but not necessary as training will be available.

The coffee-bar volunteering times could be any time between 10am and 3:30pm weekdays, and between 10am and 5pm (2 hour slots) at the weekend which is dependent on birthday party bookings.

Organisation aims and objectives

Kincorth Community Centre Association is a thriving and developing community centre. A range of groups and activities take place at the centre such as Rising 3's, Parent & Toddler, PEEP (1s), Youth Club, Indoor Bowls, Craft Group, Knitting Group, Card Craft, Music Groups, Zumba & much more!

Restrictions

Experience required: Good people skills, well presented, self-motivated, likes to work in a positive team environment. Past experience in catering and food preparation and money handling would be an advantage but not necessary.
Travel details: Kincorth Community Centre Provost Watt Drive Kincorth Aberdeen AB12 5NA The number 18 bus takes you to the centre. Out of pocket travel costs will be reimbursed to volunteers.

Expenses details: We pay out of pocket rates and reimburse volunteers weekly.
Taster available: Yes
Training details: Good support is provided. A general induction will be given on the service provided. Training will be offered in relation to the volunteer’s roles and responsibilities. Support will be provided as and when required along with regular one to one sessions.
