We are looking for board members who help oversee the management of Volunteer Midlothian. This involves attending around 6 early evening (at 5.30pm) board meetings per year, attending sub group meetings and helping deliver action points outside of this time. The board meetings are the opportunity for board members to discuss and manage the various aspects of the organisation including strategic planning, finance, funding and HR issues. What we are looking for in a Volunteer Trustee is passion about volunteering and the benefits it can bring to the individual and community, as well as a belief in Volunteer Midlothian as an organisation.
We help over 500 people a year in Midlothian find a volunteering opportunity, as well as support a network of 200 organisations involve volunteers effectively. We also deliver a number of high quality volunteering projects that help the community in various ways.

Volunteer must be at least 18 years of age - regulations for trustees.
Experience required: Our Board members should be passionate about volunteering and the benefits to be gained from it. It helps to have personal experience of volunteering and the ability to work at a strategic level. In addition the volunteer should have: • Good written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work on own initiative
