EF- Education First has exciting opportunities to volunteer with us as an International Exchange Coordinator. This very worthwhile and interesting opportunity involves:

Part 1: A Finder
To find host families and school places for our students aged 16-17 years, who come to our country for a year beginning. Host families are generally found through word of mouth, leaflets in community places, editorials etc.
Part 2: A Placer
After finding a caring family who really want to host you will then need to speak to your Regional Manager. We have found that the best way to place a student is really to get to know your host family, their likes and dislikes, hobbies, smokers or not and their location.
Part 3: A Supervisor
Another major part of being a coordinator, and indeed a most interesting side to the role, is the supervision and support of the student, host family and the school.
Part 4: A Trainer
A major part of the role is to give full information to your host families, your students and your schools.
Part 5: A World Ambassador
If all the above simple stages are followed you will have an interesting and fulfilling experience. You will have lifelong friends from around the world and within your own country and community.

With a mission to open the world through education, EF has helped people of all ages and nationalities become citizens of the world.

Restrictions

Experience required: Commitment to the aims of EF- Education First.
Travel details: The opportunity is based in a Coordinator’s local area, and travel purely depends on the coordinators desire. The main travel expenses will be reimbursed via a placement fee. But further travel expenses can be reimbursed, depending on various factors and in conjunction with the Regional Manager’s approval. On EF Training trips all expenses for travel and accommodation (if needed) will be paid by EF.

Expenses paid: Yes
Expenses details: We reimburse volunteers for any expenses incurred. This covers travel costs, any snacks, for using the phone and/or meeting students and families.
Training details: Excellent support and relevant training is provided. Includes online training, access to the Regional Manager. Coordinators are also invited to an all-expense paid annual National Training Weekend, and a regional training meeting.

Volunteer Royal Marines Cadets Instructor s

-Do you have enthusiasm and a passion for working with young people from a variety of backgrounds? -Would you like the opportunity to apply this passion in a meaningful role to launch young people for life, whilst also enhancing your skills, boosting your self-esteem and meeting new people? The Sea Cadets is the UK’s leading maritime charity and provides a head start in life for young people through nautical adventure and fun. Part of the Sea Cadets family, Royal Marines Cadets enjoy all the exciting activities on water that Sea Cadets offer, branching off into serious adventure training too. Specialising in orienteering, field craft and weapons handling makes Royal Marines Cadets unique. Our volunteers work, both directly with young people and behind the scenes, to help make a positive difference to teenagers who are often struggling in today’s world and their communities. Bridge of Don Royal Marines Cadets, based at Gordon Barracks, is currently looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join their team as Sea Cadet and Royal Marines Cadet Instructors. There are free training courses available for you to develop new skills, boost your CV and support you in this role. These tasks can also be divided between volunteers, so why not come along with a friend and share the experience? -About the Volunteer Instructor role: Whether you opt to be a uniformed leader, or wear your own clothes, you can be hands-on, teaching cadets. You'll run lessons, activities, games, projects and events that help cadets progress through The Cadet Experience, gaining qualifications and confidence as they go. Whatever your experience and skills, they could be utilised to help young people flourish – map reading, orienteering, fieldcraft, camping, adventure training, first aid, fitness / sports - there is no limit. Whatever your interest, you could bring it to Bridge of Don unit. You could also share your skills out on the water with the next generation, through the opportunity to teach water sports such as kayaking, sailing, powerboating, canoeing, rowing and windsurfing. If you don’t have any water sport qualifications, we’ll provide you with all the equipment, training and the opportunity to gain national qualifications with the Royal Yachting Association for example. All you need is lots of enthusiasm! -The tasks of an Instructor include but are not restricted to the following: • Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of Children and Young People for whom they are responsible. • Delivering instruction and training to adults and cadets. • Attending Parade Nights (Mondays 6.45-9.15pm) or being able to commit to a particular night each week or month.
