Community Champion Volunteer

Description

Become a Community Champion and support us in our search for a cure for kidney disease. Raise awareness of kidney disease and the work of Kidney Research UK in your own local community. Fundraise for us by organising and planning events locally.

Who knows their own local community? You! Put your knowledge to good use and help us by providing talks to local community groups such as Rotary Clubs, Church Groups and Businesses to help raise awareness of kidney disease and the work of our charity. We provide the tools, you provide local knowledge, contacts and enthusiasm!

You may also want to arrange local fundraising events to help raise money to go towards our vital research into kidney disease. Anything from a bake stall, car boot sale or race night; let your creativity run wild to help us raise funds.

We may also ask you to attend events on our behalf, representing the charity at cheque collections, events or speaking to the local media.

No experience or knowledge of kidney disease is necessary; just commitment to learn and help us locally. Join the team and play your part in working towards lives free from kidney disease.

Kidney Research UK is the leading national charity dedicated to research that will lead to better treatments and cures for kidney disease. We also provide information for patients and raise vital awareness of kidney-related issues among the general public.

Frequency and commitment details

Work the hours you want to, no set hours per month. Be as busy as you want to be! All help greatly appreciated.

Restrictions

Experience required: Excellent communication skills, strong organisational, multi-tasking and administration skills.
Travel details: Volunteer’s local area, work in an area of your community that suits you.
Minimum age: 16

Expenses details: Volunteers can claim expenses on a monthly basis with claims paid directly into their bank account.

Training details: Excellent support and relevant training provided to all volunteers. Comprehensive support pack provided along with a dedicated member of staff to support and advise volunteer.

Student Ambassador Volunteer

You can help by representing and raising awareness of Fertility Network Scotland charity in places of education and in the local area to highlight the services and support we provide. This can include: *Promoting the charity by displaying posters and leaflets *Highlight our campaigns and projects to fellow students and lecturers etc including through social media *Assist Fertility Network Scotland staff at events such as Freshers Week This benefits of this opportunity include:- *Meeting and working with new people, learning new skills which would benefit future applications to further education or employment while having fun, gain experience of event participation, fundraising and charity sector in general, knowledge that your support will help people in Scotland experiencing fertility problems. Fertility Network Scotland provides advice, information and support for anyone affected by fertility issues. We also work to raise awareness of the impact of fertility problems and to campaign for fair provision of fertility treatment throughout Scotland. Good training and support is provided. Community Ambassador Volunteer

What you would be doing: • Have personal experience of chronic pain • Representing Pain Concern • Build a network with local GP surgeries, NHS health board. • Attend Pain Management groups (virtually or in person). • Signpost to helpline, Pain Concern information leaflets, Airing Pain etc • Carry out research into community groups, local events and businesses in your area, so that you can contact them to attend fayres, exhibitions etc • Attend cheque presentations and local events officially thanking donors and hosts for their support • Adhere to Pain Concern’s policies and procedures at all times • Attend training and volunteer meetings • Keep your Volunteer Manager up to date on your activities, including the contacts you’ve made and talks that you’ve arranged.
