Description

ADA-Alcohol & Drugs Action have opportunities for Volunteer Mini Bus Drivers to support people who require this service in their recovery journey.

Our Activity group helps people trying to get away from problematic drug use, who want to meet others on a similar journey and want to do leisure activities on a Friday afternoon. We require an enthusiastic, motivated individual to drive a minibus and assist our Activity Group by driving one Friday afternoon per month.

As well as Mini Bus Drivers we also have a range of other volunteer opportunities such as Volunteer Buddies, Volunteer Complementary Therapists, Creative Group Volunteers , Volunteer Gardener and Volunteer Music Group Assistant.

Organisation aims and objectives

ADA provides a range of drug and alcohol services . The overall aim of ADA is to reduce the harm associated with drug and alcohol use to the individual, the family and the community and to support community based recovery. Interventions range from advice and information regarding 'safer' drug/alcohol use through to intensive work . A range of services is also available to family members from information and advice through to intensive one to one counselling.

Restrictions

Experience required: Commitment to the aims of DA-Drugs Action.
Travel details: Aberdeen City
Minimum age: 21

Expenses paid: Yes
Expenses details: Public transport of all day ticket will be reimbursed upon production of valid ticket for the day of volunteering.
Training details: Good support and relevant training is provided to all volunteers. Includes two hour Induction course, on-going support and supervision.
