Description

Volunteers are required to:
• Encourage older people to engage in their local community.
• Assist on days out and group activities out in the community or in our activity suite.
• Assist with organising group activities, setting up activity suite, supporting people
to make tea and coffee and engage in conversation.
• Support older people to access computers/internet for projects.
• Assist with evening supper clubs and other events.

Organisation aims and objectives

To provide an outlet for carers of the elderly and to give elderly people the chance to participate in outings, shopping trips provided by CACE befrienders.

Experience required: Due to the accessibility of the area it is desireable that volunteers can drive and have access to a car. It is desirable that Befrienders are confident with IT/ computers.
Travel details: • Throughout the Cumbernauld/Kilsyth locality. Activities mainly take place in the befriendee’s local community. • Group activities will take place in our activity suite in Ward Park, Cumbernauld or on a day trip out.
Minimum age: 17
