Beaver and/or Cub Scout Leader

Beavers are 6 – 8 year olds and meet Tuesday nights during term time from 6:15pm to 7:15pm
Cubs are 8 – 10.5 year olds and meet Tuesday nights during term time from 7:15pm to 8:30pm
Volunteers are welcome to work with just one or both of these groups. (Usually people take on just one role)
We are looking for volunteers to work with existing leaders to run games and activities for young people. No previous experience is required, but volunteers must want to work with children.

Organisation aims and objectives

Scouting is all about having fun, making friends and learning new skills. We aim to help young people reach their full potential as active members of the community who are self-reliant, caring, responsible and committed. Along the way we provide opportunities for adventure, fun and challenge. Scouting is open to all young people, girls and boys, aged 6 to 25 of every faith and background. There are also plenty of opportunities for adults to become involved as Leaders, Assistants or Administrators.










1 or 1.5 hours a week working with the young people. Plus planning once a term and occasional trips/weekend events etc (voluntary and optional)


14 to 18 year olds would be classed as young leaders and not have to complete a disclosure Over 18’s must complete a disclosure and application form
Experience required: No previous experience required, although any prior experiences with children is an advantage
Travel details: We meet in St Mark’s Parish Church, Drip Road, Raploch. Volunteers will need to make their own way to the church
Minimum age: 14


Expenses paid: Yes
Expenses details: Anything bought for the activities are reimbursed. No travel etc is paid for
Taster available: Yes
Taster details: Initial meeting with myself and then volunteers are welcome to come and experience the groups before committing.
Training details: Training is provided on the job and responsibility given as volunteers become more confident and want the challenge
