We all need to stay at home to protect ourselves and others. However, those who are well and not at risk can provide essential support for their family, friends and neighbours who cannot leave the house.

Extra Service Volunteer

  • VO46460

Description

We help people aged 65 and over to maintain their independence. The Extra Service Volunteer would use their practical skills to help customers with household tasks they are finding difficult with advancing years. The tasks we can do are as varied as running a household suggests, such as:
Cleaning the inside of windows
Changing curtains
Turning a mattress
Changing duvet covers
Cleaning a fridge
Defrosting a freezer
Cleaning out cupboards
Rearranging moveable furniture

Organisation aims and objectives

To support older people to remain independent at home for as long as they choose to do so, by providing a vital grocery & delivery service, as well as completing household tasks within the home via our Extra Service and also providing an outreach library service. We offer the following volunteering roles - drivers, helpers on our delivery vans and shoppers, as well as volunteers with our Extra Service and library service.
