This is an interesting and flexible role that will involve working with other volunteers to raise money from many different fundraising opportunities, participating and leading those you feel comfortable and enthusiastic about.
Examples of fundraising volunteer opportunities include working with local shops, schools, rotary clubs and businesses for support such as displaying collection tins or posters, giving raffle prizes and other donations and saying thank you on behalf of the charity. You may also help to organise and run fundraising events such as tea parties or quiz nights and encourage other people to help us fundraise as well as raise awareness of Gifts in Wills and donations In Memory. You can also fundraise yourself with activities such as helping at a bag pack at a local supermarket, selling raffle tickets or baking a cake to sell at an event.
Our volunteers make a difference to the lives of people in their communities, helping them to live independently and with dignity or to others, caught up in emergencies and disasters. Providing much needed support and services to people who need them most e.g. accompanied shopping, p.o., banking trips, writing letters, filling in forms, reading, helping at social and/or lunch clubs, driving to appointments and clinics, hairdressers, supporting annual events e.g. Flu fairs, soup & sandwiches, Christmas party/lunch. Supporting Blue Light organisations in emergencies.
