Good Neighbours Volunteers

  • VO42919

Good neighbours tasks are many and varied and will depend on the needs of people using our services and the support needed in the local area as well as your skills and interests. However tasks may include chatting to older people, offering dementia friendly support, simple everyday practical tasks such as assisted shopping, providing transport and /or social outings, helping with the care of pets, delivering books and collecting prescriptions.
You'll carry out safe, warm and well checks, which includes indentifying a cold home, physical or mental deterioration and safety issues including smoke alarm checks and reporting back concerns.
This is ideal if you want a flexible volunteering opportunity to suit your availability, to make new friends, to be part of a team, to develop your skills and experience especially if you want to work towards a career in social care or health care and contribute to the work of Royal Voluntary Service by helping older people in your community.
