Description

An opportunity to help your fellow Berwickshire residents, who might be elderly or disabled, improve their lives by driving them in specially adapted vehicles to health appointments, shopping or social opportunities in the local area.

Berwickshire Wheels operates four wheelchair accessible mini buses and two cars that are regularly maintained and fully insured. Volunteer drivers convey service users on the majority of the journeys. The Project Development Officer co-ordinates bookings from registered service users and arranges drivers normally a week in advance. Most of the driving takes place on weekdays between 9am and 6pm conveying service users from their homes to health centres, shopping and social journeys.
