Children are identified by teachers in P6 as at risk of disengaging in school through low self-esteem/confidence. A programme of 8 weeks run during school time, leaders paired with child to do a project. They then go on to 1:1 mentor through the remainder of primary school and into high school. Volunteer maintains contact with family. Co-ordinator builds picture from school to identify specific areas of concern.
early intervention from Primary 6 to enable child to achieve fullest potential through mentoring and identifying specific needs for child or family. Recognised as HMIE as best practise.

Travel details: In Peebles - the programme runs in a community hall. Children are collected by volunteers. Programme run during school hours.
