Description

We are looking for friendly and enthusiastic volunteers to help assist the Head Gardener manage the garden at Moat Brae, National Centre for Children's Literature.

Organisation aims and objectives

The organisation is the Peter Pan Brae Trust, a company limited by guatantee with charitable status. It has successfully saved Moat Brae House in George Strret, Dumfries from demolition and will house Scotland's first centre for Children's literature which will provide artistic, educational and liesure opportunities for children, families and visitors celebrate the wonderful world of Children's literature. It will also house facilities to generate income to ensure economic liability.

Restrictions

Must be safe around tools, bonfires. Ideally have experience with strimming equipment.
Experience required: A willingness to get 'down and dirty' and be physically able to work quite hard.
Travel details: Moat Brae house, 101 George Street, Dumfries, DG1 1EA. Walking distance from Whitesands bus station and train station.
Minimum age: 16

Expenses paid: Yes
Expenses details: Public transport paid on day of work.
Training details: You will be supported by the Volunteer Coordinator and have the opportunity to learn from our experienced Head Gardener.
Support: Wheelchair Access/Disabled Access Toilet
