Description

The purpose of the role is to assist in the day to day running of the Boomerang charity shop to maximise sales and profitability. We are seeking volunteers to take a hands on approach to running our charity shop, taking decisions about visual displays and staff rotas, providing a high standard of service to customers, dressing the shop window with donated goods, reaching targets and making it a success. As a shop volunteer you’ll be the face of the charity and make a big difference to how the public sees us and the work we do. You’ll have the chance to meet new people and get retail experience

Organisation aims and objectives

Boomerang was set up in 1999 to provide a safe, comfortable and friendly centre in the heart of the community to stimulate community involvement and development with an aim to community regeneration. The project provides a user led centre assisting a variety of groups with varying interests to increase confidence, promote skills and strengthen individual identity and responsibilities.

Restrictions

Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age. A PVG Scotland Adults and Children Criminal Record check will be required.
Experience required: You will need confidence, enthusiasm and the ability to put yourself in your customers' shoes. You will need drive and enthusiasm and a flexible approach to work and hours. Good Communication Skills; Friendly, helpful and understanding. What Will You Gain from the Role? Working with a variety of people; new experiences and skills; a sense of achievement.
Travel details: The facility is in the Stobswell area.
