Description

Presently we are aware of limited contact with individuals and families from ethnic communities in seeking advice on energy related matters. Your role would involve working with energy advisors from the Dundee Energy Efficiency Advice Project (DEEAP) to make ethnic communities aware of the services DEEAP provides. You would benefit from being associated with a well respected and dedicated team working to increase/achieve warm, dry, affordable homes. We would encourage you to undertake the City & Guilds qualification in "Energy Awareness" of which we would meet the cost. This would allow you to pass on your knowledge and understanding of energy issues and allow resolution of such matters. Importantly, you would enable individuals and families to reduce fuel spend, enhance insulation levels, maximise household income, register families for fuel discounted tariffs and assist with grant applications.

Organisation aims and objectives

The provision of free, impartial energy efficiency advice tailored to the needs of our citizens. Create warm, dry, affordable homes through energy efficiency measures, energy savings and income maximisation checks. Register qualifying families for social tariffs (reduced fuel costs tariffs). Encourage the take up of energy efficiency grants and provide assistance where applicable. Promote the "Domestic appliance" initiative to provide low cost, afffordable kitchen appliances.
