Description

TCA Youth Mentoring Service provides a mentoring support to vulnerable young people living within the boundaries of Dundee City. The target group are those young people who are affected by someone else's (parents, siblings, grandparents etc) substance use. The service recruits, trains, supports and supervises volunteer mentors who are then matched with individual young people. Mentoring matches are closely monitored and reviewed to ensure they remain purposeful. You must be able to commit 2-4 hours per week for at least 1 year. Volunteers will be supported by the Mentoring Coordinator and full training will be provided. Having your own transport would be beneficial but is not necessary.

Organisation aims and objectives

Tayside Council on Alcohol provides counselling, support and information to anyone affected by their own, or anothers, problem drinking. We also work in many ways to raise awareness of alcohol related issues and promote sensible and positive use of alcohol. The young persons services provide a wide range of support and treatment facilities for young people experiencing problems because of their substance use.
