Description

British Heart Foundation is looking for volunteers to join our shop teams. Volunteers are the lifeblood of our organisation. As well as contributing to a worthwhile cause, volunteering is something practical that you can do to help fight heart disease, the UK's single biggest killer. You will make new friends, learn new skills and have opportunities to develop within the BHF. You will be supported in your training by the shop manager and for your contribution you will receive 25% discount on items in the shop.

Organisation aims and objectives

The aim of the British Heart Foundation (BHF) is to play a leading role in the fight against heart disease. The BHF aims to do this through research, education and care, funding medical research, providing support and information, also providing life saving equipment for hospitals and funding BHF nurses.

Restrictions

Experience required: The volunteer must have good people skills, enjoy talking to and meeting people, an interest in clothes. Till experience would be useful, however full training will be given if required.
Travel details: 93 High Street, Lochee, Dundee
Minimum age: 16

Support

Expenses paid: Yes
Expenses details: We pay public transport costs and mileage at 20p per mile after working 3 hours.
Training details: All volunteers are required to complete a training programme consisting of 5 modules on BHF, Health & Safety, Security, Disability Act and Equality & Diversity. The training is supported by the manager and is taken at the volunteer's pace.
