Dundee Carers Centre provides a range of group support activities for carers of all ages. Types of groups include:
• Drop In Café for adult carers
• Peer Support groups for young carers
• Activity groups for young carers
• Walking Groups
• Arts & Crafts group for adult carers
• Peer Support groups for adult carers
All of our groups rely on volunteers working closely as part of a team with paid staff to organise and run these groups and activities.
If you would like to be part of a supportive team, providing creative and empathetic support to carers then we’d love to hear from you.
Although we are now beginning to work with carers again in real life, much of our support remains online – so we are particularly keen to hear from you if you are confident in using online platforms – and supporting others to use them as well.
To provide information and support services to disabled people and carers. To ensure disabled people and carers understand and exercise their rights to services and support and act in an advocacy role if required. To work with others to identify gaps in services and develop and manage services to fill those gaps.
Experience required: Group volunteers do not need any experience as full training is given – enthusiasm, commitment and creative ideas are our main requirements.
Travel details: Group workers will be required to travel to the group venue which may be in the CGate in the City Centre or a local venue in the community. Travel expenses are available.

Expenses details: Dundee Carers Centre provides full travel expenses for volunteers, payable on a monthly basis.
Training details: All volunteers will receive induction training and also training specific to their particular role within the organisation. General training sessions are run on a regular basis and volunteers can opt in as they choose.
