Child Contact Centre Organiser and Volunteer

  • VO38478

Description

This can involve helping with difficult "handovers" in emotionally sensitive situations. Our neutrality is particularly important in contact situations and the volunteer will be required to engage with both parents without giving advice, counselling or expressing an opinion. Ensuring the availability of suitable play equipment and materials, and giving ideas for play and parent child interaction (if asked) is part of the duties, as is encouraging parents to tidy up the Centre at the end of contact and providing tea and coffee.

Organisation aims and objectives

The charity provides specialist family support services across Tayside and Fife, to help families and children in particular with their difficulties around separation, divorce and family relationship breakdown. WE aim to help minimise or eliminate the negative short, medium and long term impact this has on adults and children, and empower them to manage their difficulties better, or to overcome their difficulties altogether. We provide fully accredited Family Mediation, Relationship Counselling, Children and Young Persons Counselling, Family Therapy, Psychosexual Therapy, Parenting Apart Groups and Child Contact Centres.
