Volunteer Charity Shop Worker Newton Mearns Shop

  • VO37809

If you have a morning/afternoon or two spare (or even more!), the shift pattern is 9-1pm or 1-5pm or even a couple of hours to suit, you could join the dedicated team of professionals and supporters at your local Oxfam shop. There is arguably more skill and scope in working in an Oxfam shop than any other retail outlet in the high street. While Oxfam shops do sell a range of new products – cards, gifts, food etc – the majority of the stock is donated to the shops by Oxfam’s supporters. So you never know what is going out on the shop floor, how much it will be or whether you are going to discover a valuable antique or a rare first edition.

Organisation aims and objectives

Oxfam is a global movement of people working towards a world without poverty. And we won't rest until we get the job done. We respond fast in emergencies, and stay to help people rebuild their lives. We work on long-term projects with communities determined to shape a better future for themselves. And we campaign for genuine, lasting change.
