Description

Angus Talking Newspaper Association produce a monthly CD of recorded news from local press which is distributed to our members who have visual impairments. This service is run by volunteers and provides a really worthwhile resource for members. We are urgently looking for a volunteer who can use a laptop and can spare approximately 3 hours once a month on the second Monday of the month. At present we meet in a meeting room at Brechin City Football Club but the venue can be flexible. We read and record local news which Is put on to CDs and USB sticks and sent out free of charge to blind and visually impaired listeners. Training will be given. Organisation aims and objectives

To supply CD's with articles read from local newspapers to blind and visually impaired people registered with our organisation.

Frequency and commitment details

The recordings are carried out monthly so a monthly time commitment of 1 - 2 hours is required. Weekdays

Restrictions

Experience required: Our IT volunteers need a basic grasp of IT to ensure successful recording of our service.
Travel details: We are looking for an IT volunteer to provide support, particularly in the Brechin area. The opportunity will take place once a month for roughly an hour.

Many of our library customers come to us for advice and practical support to access online resources, as they may not have access to a computer or the internet at home. We need volunteers who can explain and practically demonstrate how to complete basic IT tasks,assisting customers to improve their skills and access the information and support they require online. As part of the Library and Information service of Leisure and Culture Dundee, your role will be to support library customers to improve their IT skills through the provision of Basic IT support and training, which could include; Support with setting up and using email Accessing online job search and completing employment applications Scanning and uploading documents Accessing online training courses Completing online applications e.g. for housing or benefits Travel planning Using microsoft office packages Downloading and printing documents Accessing library service e-resources

IT Support.

We are a sports small charity based in the West End of Glasgow. We have an office in G13 and we use home offices too. Primarily we are looking for someone with experience of using Microsoft 365, and knowledge of how to share 'One Drive' to two PCs and 2 laptops, to support the charity in processing applications. In addition we have lots of other software for things like Virus protection, ACT database and Adobe etc. We are not IT savvy but recognise that we need a better set up to aid efficiency and also protect data.
