Description

Volunteers will gain new skills around youth issues. They will develop new relationships with young people and adults. Volunteers will have the opportunity to pass on their own skills, which will help them develop more self confidence and self esteem. Volunteers will feel valued as they are asked to participate in team building/celebration volunteers events. They will also become more employable and may gain access to higher education because of volunteering.

Organisation aims and objectives

Divert young people away from untoward behaviour, enhance their social, personal and educational development and preserve their physical and mental wellbeing. To provide opportunities for young people to acquire skills and develop their employability and to provide opportunities for young people to become involved in social enterprise.

Restrictions

Experience required: To be able to communicate with young people and want to work with young people. No previous experience required.
Travel details: The Pitstop Youth Cafe, Forfar Volunteers make their own way - travel costs reimbursed
Minimum age: 11

Training details: Informal induction will consist of getting to know the project and ties policies. Ongoing training will be related to personal development
