Volunteer Advisor (Generalist)

A volunteer adviser provides information and advice to members of the public in person or by telephone.
This role includes acting on behalf of clients, interpreting information to allow clients to make informed decisions, talking to other organisations and being part of busy team.
Citizens Advice Bureau has a computerised information system and case recording system. Angus CAB (SCIO) has offices in Arbroath, Montrose and Forfar. We provide an extensive training programme with opportunities to specialise after completion of training and ongoing support. Organisation aims and objectives

To give advice and information to the general public on a wide variety of subjects. A free, confidential, impartial and independant service











Experience required: Literate and able to read information based on current legislation. Must be able to listen and interested in helping people, must appreciate confidentiality
Minimum age: 18


Expenses details: Public transport - reimbursed weekly By car, mileage paid at end of training, Travel expenses are paid if volunteer lives more than 3 miles from centre.
Training details: Basic training on skills and information to be used. Ongoing training on diffrent aspects of work by specialist speakers Support - volunteers are a member of a team supported by a minder in basic training and thereafter by a team leader
