PLUS is a registered charity and is registered with the Care Commission, which graded PLUS “Excellent” in the most recent inspection report. PLUS has been working in the Stirling Council area since 1988.
PLUS works to give children and young people with disabilities the support they need to get out and have fun with people of their own age. This also gives parents and carers some time for themselves.
In 2010 PLUS arranged over 500 events and actviites - with over 3000 attendances. This depends on rasing money to pay for transport, activities and staff.
PLUS fundraisers work with staff and other volunteers to raise funds by planning and working at fundraising events and activities. Fundraising volunteers attend planning meetings and work on particular fundraising activities such as organising fundraising ceilidhs, producing and distributing publicity, seeking support from local businesses etc.
Volunteers in this role should be available to attend a monthly planning meeting and be able to devote at least three hours per week arranging and running activities.
Plus supports disabled children and young people (0-35yrs) to have access to play, leisure and sports activities. This also provides parents and cares with regular short breaks.
Experience required: Previous fundraising expereince is desirable but not esseential. This role is suited to people who enjoy working ina team, are well organised and are happy to ask other people for money for a good cause.
