Description

Volunteers are required to assistant applicants with completion of welfare benefit forms e.g. DLA, AA, ESA. Train to/show interest in putting together submissions for tribunals, also representing clients.Element of basic office routine involved in this position e.g. answering of phones, making appointments, keeping of files etc.

Organisation aims and objectives

We provide information and advice to local disabled people in such areas as welfare benefits, community care, access to the built environment, holidays, transport, and educational opportunities. We are a focus for action, representing the views and concerns of service users on various local forums.

Preferably one day per week - 6 weeks minimum.

Restrictions

A degree of maturity is required.
Experience required: Empathy, patience, form filling, observance of confidentiality policy.
Travel details: Council on Disability, Cameronian Street, Stirling. Level wheelchair accessible premises near to bus and train stations.
Minimum age: 18
