Description

The Drop-in is for people who are 18 - 65 years of age and experiencing mental ill-health. It is open Monday to Friday 12 - 4pm and Sundays 1 - 4pm, offering an informal, friendly, safe and comfortable place where people can choose to enjoy company and have the opportunity of participating in a choice of activities, groups, outings and workshops. Staff and Volunteers offer practical and emotional support for clients and take part in the various activities with them. Volunteers in the Drop-in experience working in a social care envloronment. You can use existing experience and life skills, learn and develop new skills, put something back into the community, improve your CV and have fun!

The next training intake will not be until January 2012.

Action in Mind is concerned with the welfare and rights of people who have experienced, or experience, mental ill-health or related problems and promotes good mental health.

Restrictions

Experience required: Caring, good listener, good with people.
Travel details: Within Action in Mind premises at 19 Dean Cresent, Riverside, Stirling. It is a short walk from the train and bus stations.
Minimum age: 18

Support

Expenses paid: Yes
Expenses details: Pay mileage (30p per mile) or public transport and reimburse out of pocket expenses monthly.
Training details: Initial (18 hours) training covering a range of aspects. Ongoing training throughout the year, regular support meetings.
