To assist absolute beginners to IT in the basics of using a computer.

To be a computer buddy for learners in our Beginners IT class on a Monday morning from 9.30 - 11.30 am each week

Organisation aims and objectives

ACE Cornton is a community based adult learning centre located in the heart of the heart of the multiply deprived area of Cornton in Stirling. Our services are targeted at adults 16+ living in Cornton and other deprived areas of Stirling as well as serving people from disadvantaged groups. These include people on low incomes, unemployed, people with disabilities and those who experience mental and physical ill health. We provide a wide range of learning opportunities in a friendly, informal and supportive environment. We aim to remove the barriers individuals face, enabling them to gain in confidence, take part in classes/activities and with encouragement and support make positive changes to their lives.

Restrictions

Experience required: Knowledge of IT. Literate in the use of Microsoft Office particularly word
Travel details: Based at Cornton Community Centre, 37 Johnston Avenue, Cornton, Stirling, FK9 5DD
Minimum age: 18

Support

Expenses details: We pay public transport costs on production of receipt. Mileage is paid at 28p per mile.
Training details: Shown around premises & introduction to person being 'buddied' time to practice own skills and to become familiar with our IT system
