Do you have an interest in Radio then why not join Radio Royal today? We always need volunteers to help in a wide variety of jobs. Presenting programmes, producing new programmes, IT, engineering, ward visiting, record library work, publicity and fund raising are all important to keeping us 'on air'.

Organisation aims and objectives

Radio Royal was formed in 1976 and commenced broadcasting in May 1977. Staffed entirely by volunteers, Radio Royal now broadcasts via television sets to in-patients, is played in clinic waiting areas and the restaurant, and online via our website and mobile app.










When you first start Radio Royal you will go through a probationary period of 12 weeks, during which time you must attend on a Tuesday and/ or Thursday evening for 2/3 hrs for ward visiting and training.


There is raised bumps at the doors when entering the Radio this could potentially be a restriction to someone in a wheelchair.
Experience required: For presenting/production - ability to use sound desk - training provided. No other specific skills required but an ability to learn is needed. Tasks can be tailored to an individual.
Travel details: Studios are located at Forth Valley Royal Hospital.. Volunteers are responsible for their own travel arrangements.
Minimum age: 16


Training details: On a Tuesday and/or Thursday we will offer Training to our new volunteers so that they know how to use out equipment. More tenured members and more than welcome to come along to the more advance side of training to leave how to make trailers for shows etc.
