Home-Start is an international voluntary association which offers support, friendship and practical help to families with at least one child under 5, who are experiencing difficulties or suffering stress. Volunteers visit families in their own homes on a regular basis.
Home-Start is a local voluntary group which offers support, friendship and practical help to families with at least one child under 5 who are experiencing difficulties or suffering stress. Families are supported by home visiting volunteers who visit them on a regular basis.
The volunteer needs to be a parent or have significant parenting experience ( 24h care of children)
Experience required: Reliable, committed, caring, non judgemental, sense of humour! Able to observe confidentiality.
Travel details: In the families own homes - currently Stirling Town Area, Eastern Villages, Raploch, Cornton, Bannockburn, Bridge of Allan. Mileage paid or public transport costs reimbursed.

Expenses paid: Yes
Expenses details: Yes. Volunteers can be reimbursed whenever they like. (37p per mile).
Training details: Induction takes place prior to being accepted. 6 x 5 hour sessions. Support: one-to-one monthly sessions with matched volunteers. Ongoing training: approx. 6 per year.
