Demonstration and Delivery Assistant

British Wireless for the Blind Fund is looking for people who can offer a few hours a month to deliver and demonstrate audio equipment to blind and partially-sighted people in their homes. You will ‘phone the recipient, make an appointment that suits you both, deliver the set and show them how it works. A follow-up ‘phone call a couple of weeks later would be useful. This role requires an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau check which will be organised by and paid for by British Wireless for the Blind Fund.

Organisation aims and objectives

The British Wireless for the Blind Fund provides high quality, easy to use audio equipment which has been specially designed and adapted for listeners living with sight loss. All our radios are made available on Free Permanent Loan to Blind and Partially Sighted people who meet our criteria.










Normal working hours, 9am – 5pm, Monday - FridayWeekdays


Experience required: Volunteers should be confident, friendly, have good people skills, and have access to a vehicle (mileage paid). Some IT skills would be useful but not essential
Travel details: Individuals are based at home.
Minimum age: 18

Expenses details: Mileage rates are paid in accordance with the approved mileage rates set by HM Revenue and Customs (These are reviewed twice yearly)
Taster available: Yes
Taster details: Volunteer is welcome to shadow and employee of the charity to experience the role.
Training details: Induction and Full training is provided by the Regional Development Manager. This can be carried at the volunteer’s home. Full support is also provided by the Regional Development Manager, who is available at all working hours by phone.
