Description

As a volunteer with Ladywell Neighbourhood Network you will have the opportunity to make a difference to the quality of life of isolated and vulnerable individuals in the community, either through befriending or providing some kind of practical help. You could help with serving meals, washing up afterwards and serving tea or just chatting with members and helping make the lunch club a good experience for the elderly clients. Good hygiene standards are required, training will be given.
Mondays 12 noon - 3.15pm Ladywell, Livingston

Organisation aims and objectives

LNN works with those who are affected by being socially isolated which is often due to age, disability or illness but could also be because you are new to the area, you have young children or are a single parent. They offer a number of services and activities which are open to all who are interested.

Restrictions

We are not able to provide Supported Volunteer opportunities at the moment.
Experience required: Friendly and caring attitude to clients, enjoys working with older people
Travel details: Most locally within Ladywell (and surrounding area), Livingston either at lunch club location in Ladywell or in clients' own homes. Volunteer will require own transport, out of pocket expenses wil be refunded.
Minimum age: 18

Support

Expenses paid: Yes
Expenses details: We pay public transport rates and volunteers are reimbursed either weekly or monthly to suit individual volunteer. For volunteers using their own car we pay 40 pence per mile.
Training details: We will provide induction and refer volunteers to any available training within West Lothian as and when requested
