Description

We are looking for volunteer escorts who will help assist our mini bus driver throughout the East Kilbride and surrounding areas. As a volunteer escort you will assist the min bus driver to deliver items (such as meals, books, care packages etc) to vulnerable and isolated individuals in the East Kilbride Community during the transition out of COVID-19.

Organisation aims and objectives

(1) To provide relief for persons suffering from mental or physical disability, illness or impairment and in particular those who have sensory impairment or limited mobility, and with particular reference to those who are resident in East Kilbride and environs (the Operating Area) (2) To advance education on all aspects of disability, and in particular disability involving sensory impairment or limited mobility (3) To promote and/or provide training in skills of all kinds, in fields connected with disability.

Experience required: Although no specific skills or experience is required, volunteers must be able to deal with the public in a calm and sensitive manner in order to meet the needs and requirements of our service users. Volunteers must be committed and reliable.
Travel details: This volunteering takes place in SOUTH LANARKSHIRE. Mini bus covers the East Kilbride and surrounding area.
Minimum age: 18
