Support Volunteer

To work with the Manager and other volunteers to provide a welcoming, friendly atmosphere for the families using the Centre. To help put both parents and children at ease and to ensure the availability of suitable play equipment and materials. To help out with difficult 'handovers' and complete contact arrangements as advised by the Manager; to report any problems/incidents immediately to the Manager and at all times maintain complete confidentiality; to assist in the smooth running of the Centre by keeping record of attendances, etc.; to attend training/briefing sessions as appropriate.

Organisation aims and objectives

To promote the benefit of inhabitants of South Lanarkshire and in particular, the advancement of education, the furtherance of health and the relief of poverty, sickness and distress by the promotion of family support and developing family support within the area.










3 hours per month (Saturday morning or afternoon - rota in place)


A Disclosure Check (PVG) & References will be required.
Experience required: No particular skills required - a caring, sociable personality.
Travel details: This volunteering takes place in SOUTH LANARKSHIRE in Hamilton
Minimum age: 18


Expenses paid: Yes
Expenses details: Transport costs are reimbursed every month.
Training details: Induction training: - effects of divorce/separation on children; child protection procedures; purposes at a Contact Centre; sources of referrals.
