Description

SBSS is a confidential bereavement service for people who need structure care and support following the death of someone.
We are looking to recruit new committee members. We meet the first Wednesday of every month at 5.30pm. We're a really friendly bunch an most meetings are lightsome and quick. Why not come along for a meeting to see what you think before committing yourself1?! There is also an option to join the meetings virtually. SBSS is a charity, and is led by the committee - so you get to make a real difference to shape the delivery and direction of the service in Shetland. It's a great way of giving something back to Shetland and the community - without a committee, we can't run and there would be no SBSS.

Organisation aims and objectives

'Minding you while you mind them' Shetland Bereavement Support Service works with local and national service providers, funders and the local community to provide awareness and good practice in bereavement care in Shetland by providing information, training and education. Through our specially trained volunteers we seek to offer accessible and sustainable support to any individual in Shetland who is experiencing a bereavement with the aim that no on in Shetland finds themselves alone and struggling with their grief.

Experience required: None - just a genuine interest in SBSS and the service it delivers. Come and help us continue and develop our service to be the best it can be for Shetlanders.

Expenses paid: Yes
Expenses details: 40p per mile. Volunteers complete an expenses sheet per month, reimbursed by cheque.

Guide Dogs - Join a community of amazing people and incredible dogs as a Deputy coordinator for one of our fundraising groups

n this role you will be helping and supporting the Group coordinator within our fundraising groups to organise events and secure new opportunities for fundraising by; · Supporting in organising and attending events and collections in your local area, such as Great Guide Dogs Tea Party. Informing your key contact and relevant members of these events. · Supporting in building relationships with local networks, organisations, schools, and social groups to host events or to name their own puppy. · Delegating tasks and responsibilities to other volunteers within your fundraising group in the absence of the Fundraising Group Coordinator. · Supporting in making sure fundraising policies and procedures are followed; including all roles are maintaining their required records. If you feel you don't tick all the boxes please still get in touch to see how you could help as we are flexible, where possible, and would love to have you onboard. Treasurer

NODA Ayrshire works to support members of the community to help each other at the end of life. We offer support across the three Ayrshire Local Authority areas. We are a registered charity made up of compassionate volunteer companions who kindly volunteer their time to sit with people who are dying in their final hours. Our volunteers provide companionship and a listening ear to anyone who needs support to ensure no-one is left feeling alone or isolated. NODA are currently seeking a Treasurer to help manage their accounts, especially to produce committee reports and finance reports for the end of the financial year. The successful applicant will have experience in this area and be able to upload reports to the online system. To enable the organisation to meet its aims, Trustees should perform the following functions: Set and maintain the vision, mission and values of the organisation. Develop direction, strategy and planning. Ensure the organisation has the structure and resources for its work. Establish policies and procedures to govern organisational activity, including guidance for the board, volunteers and staff. Establish systems for reporting and monitoring. Manage risk and ensure compliance and accountability with the governing document, external regulators and the law. Make certain that the financial affairs of the organisation are conducted properly and are accurately reported.
