Furniture Delivery/Collection Assistant

Key responsibilities:-

  • assist in the delivery of purchased and/or social provision furniture to people's homes as directed.
  • assist in the collection of donated items of furniture from people's homes as directed.
  • assist in the correct placement and display of donated furniture within the Furniture Project.
  • work as part of a team of 2 or 3 people to ensure that overall aims and objectives are achieved.
  • undertake general cleaning duties within the Furniture Project as directed.
  • maintain awareness and observation of Fire and Health and Safety Regulations at all times.
  • undertake training as deemed necessary.
  • undertake any other duties that may be required from time to time.

Organisation aims and objectives

The Furniture Project is part of Perth Salvation Army's Social and Community work with a specific link to the Skinnergate Resettlement Unit. It exists to: 1) Reclaim and restore used furniture for re-use in the community 2) Provide work experience and training 3) To raise funds for the work of the Salvation Army










Minimum 3 hours per day.


None, except must be able to lift furniture.
Experience required: No direct experience is essential as training is given.No qualifications are required. Proven interpersonal skills; confident communicator of detailed information, both written and verbal; team player; ability to follow instructions; methodical
