We all need to stay at home to protect ourselves and others. However, those who are well and not at risk can provide essential support for their family, friends and neighbours who cannot leave the house.
Please note, organisations are currently experiencing a large volume of enquiries from people looking to help out. They may not always be able to meet this demand so please be patient, you may not receive a quick response or be assigned to a role.
We are looking for a volunteer with an interest/skill in arts & craft. Following brain injury many people display poor motivation, low self esteem and poor self expression. Creative activity is an important source of personal satisfaction and self esteem and is a socially acceptable & controllable medium for expressing feelings. We hope to develop an arts and craft group which will provide opportunities for social interaction and the development of creative skills. we have a large selection of materials and staff will be able to assist - we just need the guidance and inspiration.
The Head Injury Service aims to facilitate and maximise the extent of recovery from traumatic brain injury and to assist individuals adapt to whatever limitations attect their ability to function in the community. By careful assessment of each individual's abilities and lifestyle, we aim to provide a programme which promotes development in the following areas - social, physical, educational and leisure.
Experience required: Arts and craft experience - no qualifications required. Friendly outgoing personality. Ability to adapt activities to suit individual abilities.
Travel details: Dirrans Centre, Dirrans Terrace, Kilwinning.
Expenses details: Expenses paid on day of attendance
Mileage rate 35p per mile or public transport costs paid.
