Volunteer Shop Assistant

The shop has recently reopened with processes in place to keep staff, volunteers and shoppers safe.

As a volunteer you will receive training on a variety of tasks and will undertake some of the following duties:
*receiving and sorting donations of clothes, books and bric-a-brac
*guidance on the pricing of items
*operating the till and preparing bankings
*training in display and presentation of goods within the shop floor
*promotion of Gift Aid

Organisation aims and objectives

The aim of Cancer Research UK is to reduce the number of deaths from cancer. The shops are crucial to Cancer Research UK. With more than 600 of them across the UK, they're a major source of the fundraising that will help us beat cancer.










Each 'shift' is 4 hours per week during normal working hours - morning, afternoon, or both!


Experience required: Must have a good sense of humour, be enthusiastic, friendly, committed, reliable and interested in customer service.
Travel details: The shop is located at 18 Vicar Street, Falkirk, FK1 1JL - it is easily accessible by public transport, being a short walk from both bus stops and Falkirk Grahamston train station.
Minimum age: 16

Expenses details: Bus fares available on production of a valid receipt for those who do a full day session only.
Taster available: Yes
Taster details: Taster session within the shop to see how you get on and to determine if the role is a good fit for the organisation and the volunteer.
Training details: Ongoing training and support within the role for the various tasks associated with the opportunity.
