Description

Provide emotional and practical support to victims of crime by telephone, face to face (when virus restrictions are lifted) and at court. You will receive extensive training and shadowing to provide this support.
We ask that you can commit 1-2 days per week to Victim Support Scotland

Organisation aims and objectives

Victim Support Scotland is the lead voluntary organisation in Scotland helping people affected by crime. It provides emotional support, practical help and essential information to victims, witnesses and others affected by crime. The service is free, confidential and is provided by volunteers through a network of community based victim and youth justice services and court based witness services.

Court Days in Dumfries and Stranraer are 10-4. sessions are 4 hours per week depending on referrals

Frequency and commitment details

Twice a Week. Volunteer must commit for at least one year

Restrictions

Experience required: Caring; Good Communicator; Good Listener;Open minded; Organised; Social Conscience; Trustworthy
Minimum age: 18
