Description

Girlguiding Berwickshire and Roxburghshire is looking for a volunteer minute secretary. The person in this role will provide essential support to the volunteer team responsible for overseeing guiding within our Berwickshire and Roxburghshire guiding counties. The minute secretary will be responsible for issuing meeting agendas and papers and will also attend and take minutes of online committee meetings to ensure an accurate record is maintained. You'll also attend smaller sub-team meetings online, taking notes to ensure that everyone involved has a clear understanding of decisions made and any actions agreed. You'll be asked to type up your notes within an agreed timescale.

We're looking for someone reliable with good attention to detail. You don't need any prior experience or knowledge of Girlguiding for this role but you should be willing to find out more about Girlguiding and support our values. Experience of taking notes and minutes would be beneficial. You'll need access to a home computer with internet connection for the purposes of sending out meeting papers, joining online meetings and typing up and sharing any minutes/ notes you've taken.

Meetings typically take place on weekday evenings or at weekends. If you apply for this role, we'll discuss your availability with you and how much time you're able to commit.

Restrictions

Secretaries can be any adult over 18 years old. You must be willing to become a member of GIrlguiding to take up this role. You will be required to provide two references as part of the joining process.
Experience required: No prior knowledge of Girlguiding is required Excellent communication skills Computer literate High level of organisation and ability to work on own initiative Ability to work as part of a team
Travel details: This is a predominately online role although you may be invited to attend face to face events from time to time once coronavirus restrictions ease.
