Description

we are looking for drivers to take patients to and from appointments as well as pick up samples from care homes/community hospitals and take them to 3 acute sites.

We have vehicles which can be used for patients transport – they are setup with COVID measures and the volunteers are not expected to help the patient in or out of the vehicle.

Organisation aims and objectives

Lifesavers Scotland is a non-profit making Charity run completely by volunteers who donate their time to help provide the service. We respond out of hours to cover the transport needs of NHS Hospitals. Delivering critical medical supplies including Emergency response deliveries.We utilise both Emergency Response and non Emergency Vehicles, including , motorcycles, cars, people carrier and 4X4 capability.

Community Transport Volunteer

Our community transport service helps older people to get out and about when walking or public transport is not an option. Main duties include escorting clients from their home to the car and providing transport for a variety of reasons. These can be taking the client to visit family or friends, go to a lunch club, shopping or to an appointment. A friendly helpful approach is all that is needed. This role is flexible and depends on your availability.

Veg Box Delivery Driver

As a social enterprise we have set ourselves a mission to bring people together and make our community resilient. In our shop we stock fresh produce, groceries, household products and toiletries that are local, ethical, environmentally friendly, organic, or fair trade to enable to help people live a healthier more sustainable life. In our cafe we serve healthy soups, toasties and coffee and provide a place for people to meet. We are proud to work together with a variety of other community projects and charities. This role supports our veg box scheme: as a volunteer driver you would be delivering veg boxes from the Storehouse to homes around Penicuik and neighbouring villages. Delivery day is a Tuesday but the exact hours are flexible.

Foodbank & Community Volunteers

ROOTs are a grassroots charity that run a foodbank which serves Bonnybridge, Banknock and Denny. We also run free community events to help connect communities, tackle social isolation, promote wellbeing and advance inclusivity. We are a passionate team of volunteers, and we are looking for more help to enable us to keep serving our community! If you have some spare time to support the residents of Bonnybridge and the surrounding areas then we have various opportunities! These include: - Weekly foodbank support, organisation and distribution of our collection-only foodbank. - Driver for our (new!) minibus and for collecting goods for our foodbank. - Community events support, such as helping with the running of our weekly Happy Mondays lunch club If you think you could help in any way then please get in touch!
