Driver & Quarry Worker

Description

We are looking for volunteers to join our diverse quarry team who produce firewood and compost. We are looking for a confident driver who can help our team deliver our products to the local community and to help with on the ground work to maintain our site. The volunteer would have the opportunity to get involved in community life and gain valuable experience of working for a small charity, as well as practical experience with firewood and compost.

Based at the foot of the Pentland Hills, Tiphereth Trading is a small and exciting social enterprise. Established in 2013 to support the life and work of adults with learning disabilities and autism, we produce and sell environmentally and economically sustainable artisan products which are delivered to customers by our day service. 1-2 days per week ongoing, with 2 weeks notice if unable to attend.

Restrictions

Experience required: Must have a valid, clean driving license and the confidence to drive a large vehicle in the city. Also, must have a willingness to carry out a variety of outdoor tasks.
Travel details: The position will be based at our quarry site, 55 Torphin Road, Edinburgh, EH13 0PQ however it will including driving to areas Edinburgh wide. The number 10 bus comes to the end of our street, we are a 7 minute walk up the hill, or if driving parking s provided free of charge.
Minimum age: 18

Training details: Volunteers will be fulling inducted to the site, in health, safety and fire procedures before they begin work. For any vehicles or machinery, they are qualified to use, they will be fully inducted and trained as necessary.
