YMCA Tayside is in search for mentors to support our communities most at risk young people in P&K aged between 8-14 years old. You will be part of the award winning Plusone Mentoring programme with full training, expenses and support provided throughout.

Plusone is an Early Intervention Mentoring Programme that aims to support young people by matching them with a volunteer mentor for up to a 12 month period. Young people are referred to the service from partner agencies if they hit one or more of the below risk factors:
· Disruption or disengagement at school
· Offending or aggressive behaviours
· Conflict in the family home
· Substance misuse.

Mentors are asked to meet with their mentee once a week and take part in local community based activities such as going for a cycle, a walk or simply a chat on a park bench with a hot drink. Having a mentor can be incredibly powerful for us all and so why not give this opportunity a try.

This is a very rewarding opportunity that provides excellent experience for those interested in this field of work, study or for those that are simply wanting to try something new and or “give back”.
