Volunteer Hearing Aid Delivery Person

To uplift and return hearing aids requiring repair, from the hearing aid users’ homes, to Midlothian Community Hospital.
• You will be provided with a suitable list of names and addresses from where you will uplift hearing aids requiring repair. (Tuesday afternoon)
• The aids will be left outside peoples’ front door, in a sealed envelope for uplift.
• You will deliver your uplifts in one trip to Midlothian Community Hospital, placing them in a designated box at Reception.
• When returning the aids to individuals, there will be an agreed uplift time at the Community Hospital and packages will then simply be posted through the letter box at the stated address.(Thursday morning)










A minimum of one hour per week for 6 months


Experience required: A desire to help isolated, vulnerable people in your community. A driving license and access to your own vehicle. Willingness and ability to ensure that any information you share in relation to the work undertaken, is accurate and from a reliable source.
Travel details: As much as it is possible, volunteers will be asked to uplift and return hearing aids from homes in their own locality. They will then be taken to / uplifted from Midlothian Community Hospital, Bonnyrigg.


Training details: Complete essential training for the role – Data Protection E-module. Regular contact with your Volunteer Co-ordinator (telephone or email) for instruction, support and guidance. To respond to service changes and requirements.
