Description

To receive requests from individuals requiring repairs to their NHS hearing aids. To match these requests with appropriate volunteers, ensuring timely uplifts and returns of hearing aids to the individuals.

Tasks/Activities to be undertaken:
• Jointly with one other, you will monitor incoming requests for hearing aid uplifts.
• You will group them geographically and allocate to an appropriate volunteer.
• Names and addresses will be given by you over the phone, to the identified volunteer, once confirmation of availability is established.
• Volunteers will report back to you with confirmation of uplifts made and delivery to MCH (Midlothian Community Hospital).
• For uplift from MCH, you will allocate appropriate volunteers and confirm with them their availability for the task, on the agreed day/time. This can be planned and agreed at the same point as uplifts for delivery to the hospital.

Restrictions

Experience required: A desire to help isolated, vulnerable people in your community. Willingness and ability to ensure that any information you share in relation to the work undertaken, is accurate.

Support

Training details: Complete essential training for the role – Data Protection E-module. Regular contact with service organiser (telephone or email) for any required instruction, support or guidance. To respond to service changes and requirements.
